24 July 2009 - 2

......a couple more ongoing projects. First is Tom's bus which is in the initial stages of being converted into a sales-flap bus
the large window installed as part of the original camper conversion leaves quite a large hole!
this is only the begining.............lots of measuring , cutting, fabricating and reinforcement to go...........
Matt's oval is really shaping up
there's actually loads of OG paint under the layers and layers of later paint.
The new front wings have now arrived

A fair bit more done on Jason's bus this week. First we started with the inner wings and panel under the spare wheel carrier..........

we also lined up the outer sill and tacked it into place
all the welds dressed and a good thick coat of 'Wurth' zinc rich primer
a couple of smaller holes attended to as well
........also this week we sorted some isues with this cab and got it a fresh MOT
This yellow split arrived for work
we also carried out a major service on Mikes late bay panel

20 July 2009

Sorry for lack of updates recently but we've been really really busy.

A brief update........................ This purple split is in for some serious welding this week.
This lovely green westy is in for a new exhaust and a few other issues.
Sharon's bus is being fitted up and should be off tomorrow
We fixed a Dutch bus which had electrical issues and then fixed this really nice Swiss bus which was about to throw it's crank pulley and had poorly CV joints
Work continues on Jason' bus.............still looks rubbish but it's starting to regain some shape.
The yellow bus is now gone having had a new transaxle and work continues on Matt's oval.
While I'm on it's about time I said a public thanks to Jim (Dr Slam) for his work here over the past few years and wish him all the best as he returns to University to study trees or patios or something like that.
I'd also like to welcome Jem on board. Formerly the owner of 'Aircooled Addiction', the first ever aircooled workshop here at Chacewater, Jem brings a whole heap of skills and knowledge with him...............it's great to have him on the team.
I'll make an effort to update the blog this week so please check back to see what's going on in Cornwall's most popular aircooled workshop!

Dave's bus has just completed a marathon trip around all of Scotland and Ireland - thousands of miles without a fault. It's now getting a thorough overhaul by Jeff to make sure the next trip runs as smooth.

Jem has been sorting Matt's oval - lots of awkward little bits to sort out but it's already coming on nicely.

Sam's cracking on with Jason's bus and making rapid progress. Chassis now repaired...........

more rot cut away...........................
tophat in.....................
