30 Sep 2009

Work continues on the 13 window - unlike Jason's bus this one is fairly routine. We have repaired the inner front valance, front steps and front floors. I can hear the outer sill being fitted as I type. Not long to go on this one now

Mike bus got new brakes and a service prior to a huge road trip down to Africa

Paul's Brazilian 15 got a new wiring loom, lights, relays and switches.

we've also got an MOT on Matt's oval, sorted more of Richy's bus and will shortly commence a full resto of a t3
watch this space..........scroll down - I've added loads today!

Westy For Sale

We have a tax exempt, left hand drive Westfalia camper for sale. The bus has a few dents and scrapes but is super solid. The orange paint is all original and the bus has never been welded!!!. The bus was lowered by us last year and now rides on BRM alloy wheels with good tyre all round. We are looking for £xxx with a full service and fresh MOT but will haggle!

original Westfalia tag, oil pressure and temp gauges. The front floor on this bus is superb
dent in the lower front panel, surface rust on the grill and bumper - looks cool

interior is clean and has been recovered. Poptop canvas is a recent replacement the bus had a replacement engine (1800cc) only a few years ago.

Sales Flap Bus

Tom took delivery of the Sales Flap Bus last Saturday and will be sorting out the interior and signwriting at home. This has been an interesting project and has been great fun to do. Look out for this bus around Newquay, it's going to spend a lot of time on the roads.

Jason's Split

Having done both sides of the roof it's now time to sort out the front and rear. At the front we will fit a complete roof peak from another bus, at the rear we will fabricate panels. Lots of work to go yet!........the rear end is as bad as the front. We didn't really expect it to be this bad

23 September 2009

Sorry for the lack of day-to-day updates. We're in the middle of moving offices at the moment now that Colin has set up his trim shop. We've not been idle!........work continues on the sale flap bus and Matt's oval.

We've also been doing some work on Richy's Devon camper

Bus number one in Mike and Sue's 'fleet' is getting a good going over and a colour change.
The 'GREEN' 13 now has a new battery tray and rear corner.........plenty of other stuff as well.

Paul's bus is well travelled, coming down from the Swindon area for work at 50-67. Plans for this bus include a full mechanical overhaul, rewire and a host of upgrades. It will however keep its ratty paint (or no paint) scheme.

Jason's Bus

.........a quick update on Jason's bus. Having done the offside roof and gutter we now turn our attention to the nearside. It's pretty bad................
first we've fitted a good pair of rust free doors and lined them up correctly
with all the old metal gone we can look for reference points to lay in the new gutter
the gutter is lined up and tacked into place
..we can then fit the roof repair panel
tacked into place and then we slowly weld into place.
well, that's both sides of the roof nearly done. Tomorrow we will start work on fitting the front end of the roof.

More Rust to sort out

A few more repairs on the Brown 13. The seat belt mounts and parts of the wheel tubs- both were rotten and were cut out.
we fabricate new mounts to go in
............and then weld into place..both sides
then a good coat of zinc primer to keep the rust away
a neat repair sorts out the wheel well

....meanwhile, under the world's rustiest bay, Jem had to tackle this lot - sorry Jem

...........other stuff: we've nearly rebuilt the sales flap bus (a few pictures next week when it's done) and Matt has started the body prep on Mike and Sues 13.
Also, Chris (my son) starts his formal apprenticeship at 50-67 and Truro College next week!

Jason's Roof

After much grafting - the centre part of Jason's Roof is sorted - just waitingfor a peak clip now to sort the front end.
........plenty to do but it's looking miles better now

Trimming

Our resident trimmer will be setting up shop this Friday. We will have a few samples of his work and lots of swatches for you to have a look at. Please feel free to call in for a chat or estimate.

Jason's rusty bus and Tim's rusty bus

Tim's bus is getting welded after it failed it's MOT. All the patches feel off the patches and he now has no metal left on the bus.

a bit of work on Jason's roof...............
gutter in on one side after lots of cutting, grinding and then more cutting and grinding
more updates tomorrow on this one.
