30 April 2009 2

A bit more. Jeff sorted the front of my bus for me..looking good now

Mark and Marni's bus gets new discs and calipers

The white bus below got the full works this week. 4 new ball joints, handbrake cables and new rear cylinders, brake lines, lowering.................tuneup..................

The 13 is getting charged up and ready to go

30 April 2009

Somewhere under all this masking paper.............

..............is a bus. Brian wanted reinforced seatbelt mountings fitted. This involves cutting and welding the 'B' pillars..............easy on a resto project, no so easy on a fully trimmed bus with a million pounds worth of gadgets and hi-fi in it.

Sam made up some reinforcing plates
cut a hole lower down the pillar
move the plate to the top and closed the hole.
plenty of zinc paint applied
seatbelt fitted and trim reattached.
Meanwhile Jeff was sorting this RHD Westy. The engine was removed to fit a new tank sender and to sort out the linkage on the weber carb. While the bus was in we also fixed the steering idler and a whole lot of other stuff.

71 Bay For Sale

Customers' bus. For sale is this lovely 1971 tintop bay. The bus is in lovely condition and has never been welded. We have recently fitted a new engine (2 year warranty), clutch and exhaust. Brakes have been renewed and electrics fully sorted. The bus has been lowered slightly (front beam is adjustable) and fitted with new hubcaps. The bus has beeen waxoiled underneath (not undersealed).

Paint is good and has a deep shine

Interior is from an early westy - we believe this bus started life with a different interior conversion
The bus has a full 12 months MOT and is rady to go.

17th April 2009 - 2

Tims bus now has a full MOT and we are just waiting for the DVLAto inspect it. The rear end has been nudged down, we've fitted a stereo and a few other odds and sods - will be rustproofed underneath once the ramp is free.
Engine back in the early bay - Sam and Jeff are now sorting the brakes and general MOT work.
This bus arrived dripping with fuel. Sam fitted all new fuel lines and gave the engine a quick service - all good as new.

18th April 2009

The blue 13 is nearly ready for the road - a rolling road session is booked for next week to get the best out of the new engine and carbs.
Hi-fi is all good to go and nice and loud. Clifford alarm fitted as well.
Mark and Marni's bus is now ready for trim. A headliner and full leather interior will be fitted next week.
This early bay is getting a good going through. Jeff has replaced the engine, clutch, exhaust, and loads of ancillaries. It's also having a mild lowering job, rustproofing, new screen and a fair few other bits.

Chris's bus was in earlier in the week and was treated to a new Autocraft battery tray whilst Jeff sorted out some electrical gremlins.

6th April 2009

Jeff fitted acoustic carpet under the blu 13's rock and roll bed and finalised the hi-fi install. The leather-trimmed bed was reassembled and the buddy seats were fitted.

A nice Creative rack for the 13
Jim and Jeff sorted this deluxe out with 4 new ball joints - you could almost pull the old ones out by hand! They then started working though the bus to bring it up to MOT standard. Further work will include welding the seatbelt mounts, lowering the back, rustproofing and undersealing....................I'm sure there will be more.

3rd April 2009

Cat and Als slammed panel is in for a good going though having been sat doing nothing for a few months.
The front end of the green 13 was used to demonstrate soda blasting. The machine worked well and stripped the paint quickly. We have yet to work out a tarrif but will shortly be offering this service - it's a ideal way to remove paint without any damage to vulnerable body panels.

2nd April 2009

The sun is out and so are the deluxes. 21 awaits some welding, 13 is about to get it's front end blasted and the fleetline is in for MOT and service

Pauls bus came in for a little welding - just a short sill and a front step this time - more to do later

1st April 2009

Jim sorted out a new pop-top canvas for Greame and Kates late bay. The funky new blue canvas looks great
