Simons bus has been welded, prepped

22 Jan 2010

Well it's still all go here at 50-67. The boys in the booth have been busy sorting out Mike's bus and Simon's bus while the rest of us have been hard at the other projects.

We have found new owners for this bay and will now be carrying out a series of improvements over the next week or so.
We've got the Autocraft side panel sitting nicely on Tom's bus
Graham's bus was in for engine issues
Mike's 13 is now MOT'd and legal. A quick wash and wax and it's good to go.
Alex's westy now has a fresh MOT - lots of work this one .............
After a slight deay we have managed to source a good bus for Phil's project. A rare bus this one, being a twin door syncro and Right hand drive as well.
After a good going over with Matt Keenes steam cleaning machine we wheeled it up to the workshop and the guys have gutted it ready for work.
It's great to work with a strong bus for once - the floors and underside of this bus only look a few years old
The plan for this one is to sort out the 4wd system and fit a TDI engine as well as body resto and a full retrim by Colin. It's going to be some bus when it's done.

50-67 is back.........

Well, after some pretty rubbish weather we are all back and ready to tuck into some work. As you can see below we're not short of a job or 2!
Some stuff we've been doing over the past 2 days..........................

Mike and Sue's bus is getting it's first coats of paint
This bus was in today with electrical issues which Jeff has sorted

We've also sorted the drive-line issues with Jon and Celeste's new split.

Mikes other bus is waiting for some better weather to drive over for MOT
Jem, Chris and Jeff have been busy slamming Chris's GT onto it's fat rims
Sam's working away on a few projects at the moment. We've finally got the last panel we need for Simeon's 13 and will be fitting it tomorrow

Sorry but 50-67 is closed

A few of us got to work this morning but we decided it was best not to stay. We cleared the path outside the unit but within 15 minutes there was another inch of snow.

With cars and buses slidng backwards down Chacewater hill we made a quick escape so we didn't get stranded.

We will try again tomorrow...............

Hope you got home OK Jeff

Happy new year from all at 50-67

Bit of a slow start today after a 2 week break - the workshop is freezing!

Here's a brief rundown on what's going on.............

Colin is sorting out a new canvas for Mike and Sue's '62
Sam is welding box section under the floor of this so42 - I can't tell you why yet - all will become apparent in the next few weeks.
Mike and Sue's '62 is getting more prep
Our 412 is now sporting a very 1970's vinyl roof
...........and a bit of hi-fi
This blue 13 window is getting a good going over ready for it's MOT tomorrow.
Plenty of routine work going on the longer-term restorations as well.
More tomorrow

50-67 7th December 2009

A little more done on Tom's 15. Pictures show the rear corner being reworked an a new battery tray going in

...a bit more done on the front end as well.
our project 412 has new shorter springs and is starting to shape up.
Simeon's 13 now has a new load area floor
our second so42 project is also starting to shape up. We were unhappy with the A pillar, front valance and front floor............so we cut it all out
a donor panel ready to go in
all in place. Now we can get on with some major changes to the way the bus looks - watch this space - this one is going to be VERY different.
Paul's Brazilian 15 now has an MOT and has been registered. We are currently replacing a few door and window rubbers prior to it leaving the workshop
Mark's collection of Westfalias is growing - we got this one in for him last week.
Jeff has been busy sorting out a few fuel injection and electrical issues - we should get an MOT on this one this week

other work recently includes: prep on Mike and Sue's '62 which will be painted this week, prep on Simon's bay and more prep on Tim's '56
