11 June 2009

Another busy week at 50-67.
Jeff is sorting out Nige's bus with an IRS conversion - the pictures below show work in progress - the bus (as part of the conversion) will get new gearbox mounts, rear brake shoes and cylinders, inner and outer CV joints and boots, shock absorbers, clutch, handbrake cables etc.

Jasons bus has been stripped in preparation for lots of grinding - although the panel below kindly fell off!!!
The interior is actually in prety good condition with no rot and very few water stains

..............all dismantled
Now the interior is out we can see more or less what needs to be replaced. Lots and lots of bodges throughout the bus will be cut away - we will then start again
This nice dry Australian bus has been given a good mechanical checkover and brake overhaul. We have replaced the front discs, pads and hoses. The rear end was pretty inefficient so Jim has rebuilt the rear brakes using new cylinders and lots of elbow grease.
