For the 3rd day now, Sam has been sorting out rust issues under an early bay. Repairs are extensive and include major parts of the chassis, outriggers, inner and outer sills etc




The small hole in the picture below is the seatbelt mount - the big hole and the rust shouldn't really be there - it will all be stripped out and replaced with fresh steel. Seatbelt mounts will be reinforced.

The ACME bus has been on the ramp all day while Jim has been nudging the rear end towards the ground and repositioning the shock absorbers. After much cutting and grinding (and taking the wheels on and off about 30 times) we have managed to get the bus down another 2 inches on the rear - now the rear end scrapes the ground as much as the front :-)


further work on ACME this week will include an electrical checkover, a bit of welding on the 'hurst' bumper (just to keep it from falling off - the original mounts have been worn away) and some random other stuff.....
