Brians bus is back for a major going through. We love this bus and are particularly proud of the fact that 50-67 turned it from what was effectively a display vehicle into something capable of regular and hard use. Heres some pictures...................
no air vents - air is fed to the engine by electric fans
no door handles - fronts have huge solenoids operated by remote controls

Another busy Monday
This green Westfalia got some new steel today. Sam sorted the front step while Jeff sorted a series of rust patches along the bottom 6inches. The bus should be in paint and looking good by the end of the week.
James fitted new pop-out windows as well as new window and door rubbers to the 1959 Microbus. Jeff installed a Bluebird rock and roll bed.........
This poorly bug has had a new flywheel oil seal, gearbox input shaft seal and a damn good service. It now runs like a dream and doesn't mark it's spot with a massive oil slick anymore.

Theres been plenty of rust repair going on for the Silver Car as well - more pictures of that one when I get the time.

50-67 Westfalia at Eden
Earlier in the year 50-67 was approached by the Eden Project who asked for the loan of a splitscreen for the entire summer. The split was to be used by local artist Ben Cook as part of a display which promoted the use of sustainable materials in the manufacture of surf boards. Now we have the bus back here are a few pictures................

Late Westy
Lovely late yellow Westy just out of the booth - this bus has had repairs to both rear corners and arches and the rear valance. The entire bottom half of the bus has been repainted.
The Silver Car is looking a bit rough around the edges - some evening work over the Christmas break will see most of it done............. In the meantime we've fitted new brakes, hoses and fuel lines. The lotus twin cam 16 valve engine was rebuilt a few hundred miles ago but will get a good service to make sure it stays in top form.
The 1962 Devon keeps showing us more horrors - the front panel is a bit of mess - mixture of bodged welding and filler.
All looking a little better now though
yes - that is filler on the front panel and it's all going to come off .............................

The Silver Car - Can you tell what it is yet??????
A new project for the workshop this one. Something a little different - It doesn't have to be a VW does it? I'll let you guess what it is....................
The 1959 microbus is back in to have it's window apertures sorted and the front doors fitted with all new seals. The original seals are like concrete having baked in the sun for 48 years. We'll sort out any rust we find and blow-in the repairs in Dove Blue
